Facial Attendance System

Abstract

In the 21st century, everything around us has become depends upon technology to make our life much easier. Daily tasks are continuously becoming computerized. However, the process of recording students’ attendance at the university is still highly manual, which is slow, inefficient and time consuming. The main objective of this project is to offer system that simplify and automate the process of recording and tracking students’ attendance through face recognition technology. We aim to provide an automated attendance system that is fast, highly precise and easy to use while trying to keep the costs to the minimum by utilizing existing hardware. After researching different detection, facial feature extraction and classification methods we were able to develop an attendance system that is fast, precise, cheap to deploy and easily integrable with other systems.
