A single website, such as Wikipedia, can host vast knowledge about anything from a music band to how a gun functions. On a government website, you can find more private information. There are numerous techniques to attack a website, many of which have been patched, many of which are still in use, and many more are still undiscovered. One of these is all it takes to obtain vital information about online users, halt services, or seize control of the website without the owner's knowledge.
