Abstract:
A group study is defined as students forming a group in order to solve a specific problem. At university, group study is a necessary and very important skill. According to McCabe, J. A., and Lummis, S. N. (2018) research, group learning is a learning method that benefits students not only in knowledge but also in soft skills such as communication and problem-solving. However, when studying the group study situation of Vietnamese students, Phan Nhu Dai, lecturer in the Department of Sociology at Hong Duc University (2018) discovered that they still do not have a correct study skill, resulting in low learning efficiency, and most of the students are not fond of group study. As a result, we wanted to research the specific difficulties that students are experiencing then design an application to assist students in group study, resulting in improved learning outcomes and future success.
The university environment and study program will influence student behavior, habits, and problems. As a result, in this graduation thesis, our team will research and design an application to support group study for FPT University students.
This graduation thesis is divided into 4 parts: Capstone Project Proposal (methodology, research method, research process and evaluation, analysis of research results, providing solutions), Interaction Design (early information architecture versions of the application, workflow, and wireframe), Interaction Design and Evaluation (the process of testing the application's usability, and upgrading the information architecture, wireframe), and Product Finalization (the process of finalizing the application design).
The Design Thinking Process will be used throughout the application research and development process. This is an iterative and user-centered approach to product development with six steps: empathize, define, ideate, prototype, test, iterate to achieve the best product possible within the scope of the graduation thesis.
