Research and design on animated film Reminder

Abstract

What makes our film stand out is that we feature a chef who suffers from Imposter Syndrome, a concept that little animated short film has explored before. In addition, this issue is rarely noticed or paid attention to in real life. We may have experienced it without realizing or considering it negatively. To create such a unique story, we conducted extensive research across various fields, from psychology to cuisine, fantasy, and psychology which impact the main character's actions. As far as we know, the pressure of working in a stressful environment, such as a restaurant, is similar to our experiences working in the design industry, and we totally feel a deep connection. We did our best to illustrate the main character's challenges, emphasizing the difficulties he faced while also representing our team’s real-life problems. Our team decided that frame-by-frame animation would be the most suitable to show our story. Throughout our long journey, we had experienced some of the most difficult tasks, however, we were able to overcome all of the challenges thanks to the dedicated advices from our supervisor - Ms. Le Huyen Trang. We can proudly say that we had tried our best to make the first animated film together as a team.
