Abstract:
In the fashion world, gender-fluid clothing has no agreed-upon definition in the fashion
industry; instead, its function is more straightforward to describe. Gender-fluid fashion, in
essence, isn't constrained by the conventional "menswear" and "womenswear" binary. The
notion is that any outfit can be worn without respect to the stereotypes of pants on men, skirts
on women, etc. (Sanjana, 2021).
Looking back at history, gender-fluid clothing has been worn for thousands of years. While
cosmetics were used by both sexes as early as 2000 BC in ancient Egypt and Greece, high heels
were initially intended for men. In 1966, Yves Saint Laurent introduced the "Le Smoking"
women's tuxedo suit, which revolutionized the fashion business and made ladies wear pants
(Simon, 2022).Realizing the significance of the aforementioned issue, the team has conducted secondary and
primary research to gain a deeper understanding of it. Besides, the team will build a campaign
to bring a positive perspective on gender-fluid fashion and reduce gender stereotypes in
fashion.
